Tech Visionary Predicts Robots Will Cover Computing's 60-Year Evolution in Just Two Decades

At the 2026 Technology Innovators Conference held today, Zhou Yong, founder and CTO of Lingxiao Xinshou, shared a bold outlook: robotics could compress the entire 60-year development arc of computers into just 20 years. He outlined a four-phase roadmap for the sector — the first five years would see robots achieve the skill level of a typical artisan, the next five would elevate them to match elite human teams, and the final decade would enable large-scale collaborative interaction.

Zhou predicted that the "ChatGPT moment" for embodied intelligence is fast approaching, characterized by three key breakthroughs: broad-scale sample generalization, autonomous handling of complex long-horizon tasks, and self-evolving learning within real-world environments. On the infrastructure front, he revealed that Lingxiao Xinshou's joint modules adopt a plastic-replacing-steel design, with the most common model priced at just 399 yuan. The company aims to bring total home robot costs below 10,000 yuan while keeping weight under 10 kilograms.

Looking ahead, Zhou unveiled ambitious milestones: "Within one year, we hope to achieve self-production of dexterous hands; within three years, map all human skills; and within ten years, create everything." He also announced three collaborative initiatives — a scholars program, a genius researcher program, and a centennial plan — with the latter focused on investing in or sponsoring artisan crafts, intangible cultural heritage, and public welfare projects.
