KPa-BM ESG 2026: Electricity Use Cut 8.4%, Fuel Surge Lifts Carbon Intensity to 2.20 tCO₂e per Employee

KPa-BM Holdings Limited (KPa-BM, 02663) has released its Environmental, Social and Governance Report for the year ended 31 March 2026, outlining stronger board-level oversight, expanded data coverage and mixed progress against its 2027 sustainability targets.

Environmental Performance • Greenhouse gas emissions rose 32.4 % to 394.90 tCO₂e after Scope 1 jumped more than five-fold to 169.80 tCO₂e, reflecting three additional vehicles and the first-time inclusion of stationary fuel sources. Scope 2 fell 16.1 % to 225.11 tCO₂e as purchased electricity declined. • Emissions intensity increased to 2.20 tCO₂e per employee from 1.68, overshooting the company’s 2027 reduction target of 1.95 tCO₂e. • Total electricity consumption dropped 8.4 % year on year to 463.57 MWh, yet overall energy use almost doubled to 1.09 GWh as fuel consumption surged to 628.73 MWh. Energy intensity climbed to 6.09 MWh per employee, above the 2027 goal of 4.46 MWh. • Water usage fell 36.2 % to 4,167 m³, lowering intensity to 23.21 m³ per employee—7.5 % shy of the 2027 target of 21.59 m³. • Non-hazardous waste generation eased 7.4 % to 46.31 tonnes, though waste intensity rose to 1.52 kg per HK$1,000 of combined factory and trading revenue. Packaging material use grew 55.3 % to 4.98 tonnes.

Social Indicators • Headcount slipped to 214 (168 male, 46 female). Overall turnover increased to 29.10 % (female turnover rose to 21.51 %). • No work-related fatalities were recorded for the third consecutive year; however, 157 lost workdays were reported due to injuries. • Training coverage decreased to 27.10 % of employees, with average training hours per employee falling to 3.71 from 11.23. • Community donations expanded to HK$43,160, tripling last year’s level.

Governance Enhancements The board retains ultimate responsibility for ESG matters, supported by an ESG Working Group comprising senior management. No corruption cases were reported during the period. Updated codes reinforce anti-bribery, whistle-blowing and intellectual-property safeguards, and the company maintains ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 frameworks across quality, environmental and occupational-health management.

Outlook KPa-BM plans further energy-efficiency measures, fleet electrification, tighter waste controls and enhanced training to close gaps to its 2027 environmental targets while deepening stakeholder engagement and maintaining zero-tolerance for corruption.
