Shareholders of Novo Nordisk are urging the pharmaceutical giant to pursue acquisitions to diversify its product lineup, aiming to reduce its financial reliance on the diabetes medication Ozempic.

Eugen Uretzki, an analyst at shareholder Flossbach, noted that the development potential of Novo Nordisk's assets "has yet to be proven."

Meanwhile, Julia Angeles, an investment manager at Baillie Gifford, a Novo Nordisk investor, stated that the company must articulate a strategy for transitioning away from its dependence on Ozempic. She suggested that possible avenues could include forging partnerships to pursue additional experimental therapies.
