On September 11, China Zheshang Bank Co., Ltd. (CZBANK) hosted a unique financial consumer protection livestream titled "Shopping with You in Yiwu: Should You Accept This Order Today?" at the Yiwu International Trade City in Zhejiang Province. The event zeroed in on common merchant pitfalls like cross-border trade fraud and fake order traps, drawing around 106,000 views and over 105,000 likes. From its humble "feather-for-sugar" bartering origins to becoming the "world's supermarket," Yiwu has thrived on bold entrepreneurship and honest business practices. During this Financial Education Awareness Week, China Zheshang Bank Co., Ltd. brought its consumer protection classes directly to the market frontline, embodying the spirit of Yiwu's development success story.

Focusing on cross-border trade fraud, the bank set up its consumer protection classroom inside the "world's supermarket." As the globe's largest hub for small commodities, Yiwu sees a constant flow of merchants and orders, yet risks like fake orders and foreign exchange advance payment schemes lurk beneath the surface. The livestream adopted a two-part format, blending "branch case studies with main venue expert analysis." Through remote interactions, real trading scenarios were recreated to expose the scams merchants actually face. A live link-up reached Zone 2 of the Trade City, where the head of Zhejiang Xingbao Umbrella Co., Ltd. shared her personal story. She recounted losing 40,000 yuan early in her business by trusting a client without keeping transaction records, and later falling for a scam involving early bill of lading handover. "If someone back then had given me a heads-up like you're doing now, that 40,000 yuan might not have vanished," she remarked. Meanwhile, the chairman of the Rain Gear and Outdoor Products Chamber of Commerce in Zone 2 advised merchants, "Don't just trust acquaintances; trust the process and the rules."

The livestream by CZBANK also tackled schemes targeting the elderly, such as low-cost wellness tourism investment scams and AI voice-cloning calls impersonating relatives. To counter these, the bank invited frontline anti-fraud police officers into the studio to "counter each trick," offering memorable anti-fraud tips and urging viewers to safeguard their "money bags." A spokesperson for China Zheshang Bank Co., Ltd. noted that placing the awareness week's flagship livestream in Yiwu International Trade City was both a tribute to Yiwu's developmental approach and a concrete step to meet the National Financial Regulatory Administration's call for a "clear online financial space and safe consumer spending," pushing consumer protection efforts deeper into communities and closer to the public.

Delivering consumer protection tips to doorsteps and financial knowledge to every citizen, CZBANK rolled out a variety of financial education campaigns nationwide during the week, weaving consumer protection awareness into daily life. For "two drivers and two workers" groups, the bank crafted comic-style tip sheets and launched a "Consumer Protection Tips to Your Doorstep" initiative. A "big truck" rolled into Qingdao's logistics hub to educate freight drivers on high-frequency scams like "trap loans," while sessions were held at a Didi service center in Tianjin for ride-hailing drivers. Targeting the elderly, the bank collaborated with community programs, inviting the head of Suzhou's Senior Sports Association to a branch to explore age-friendly service areas. It also brought financial "first lessons of the autumn semester" to Huzhou Senior University, demonstrating features like the large-font mobile banking app, smart voice customer service, and remote video tellers to help older learners bridge the digital divide.

Beyond these, CZBANK launched consumer protection-themed metro trains in Shenzhen and Changsha, hosted a financial protection art carnival in Nanchang, and organized knowledge sessions on a cruise ship in Chengdu. From subway cars to art galleries, from daytime transit hubs to nighttime street scenes, the bank is embedding financial literacy into urban public spaces, weaving a connected network of outreach. Active participation was seen at a fun financial knowledge quiz held at the Jiangxi Art Museum in Nanchang during the campaign. Looking ahead, China Zheshang Bank Co., Ltd. will stay true to its "finance for the people" mission, turning successful awareness week practices into long-term systems. By leveraging digital tools and grassroots service extensions, it aims to keep financial consumer protection education woven into everyday routines and ongoing activities.
