Humanwell Healthcare (Group) Co., Ltd., trading under the ticker symbol ST Renfu, has released its semi-annual report for the 2026 fiscal year, showing notable earnings growth despite an ongoing regulatory probe. During the first half of the year, the company generated operating revenue of 12.061 billion yuan, a marginal year-on-year decline of 0.03%. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company reached 1.33 billion yuan, reflecting a 15.15% increase from the same period last year. Furthermore, net profit excluding non-recurring gains and losses attributable to shareholders climbed 14.02% to 1.289 billion yuan.

Even with the profit expansion, Humanwell Healthcare remains under investigation by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). On October 22, 2024, the company disclosed that it and its controlling shareholder had received a formal case filing notice from the CSRC concerning suspected violations of information disclosure regulations. The regulator subsequently decided to open a formal investigation into both entities. Nearly two years have passed since the filing, yet no conclusion has been announced to the public.

Investors who purchased shares between April 27, 2021, and October 22, 2024 (inclusive) and either sold after October 23, 2024, or continued to hold at a loss may still be eligible to participate in claims. The groundwork for the regulatory action may have been laid earlier when the firm received a warning letter, as authorities found that Humanwell Healthcare had failed to disclose non-operating fund occupation in a timely manner, and had not properly reviewed or disclosed connected transactions, among other violations.

In addition, the company has faced scrutiny over fund occupation practices. Although it publicly stated that such funds have been fully repaid, the CSRC reserves the right to impose retrospective penalties for the original violations. Observers note that Humanwell Healthcare's long-standing lax approach to information disclosure, including frequent delays in data updates and incomplete explanations of significant matters, has raised doubts among both market participants and regulators about its operational transparency.

These patterns suggest that the formal investigation is far from incidental, but rather the culmination of years of irregular corporate governance practices. Affected investors are encouraged to actively protect their legal rights and participate in the claims process to potentially recover their losses. When pursuing claims, investors should carefully retain all relevant trading records, receipts, and other documentary evidence to substantiate their financial damages in subsequent legal proceedings.
