A major integrated project combining a 100,000-ton annual lithium battery anode material production line with a supporting 150,000-ton annual graphitization production line was officially signed in Ya'an, Sichuan Province. The signing ceremony took place on September 9th, with Li Wenbin, Secretary of the Ya'an Municipal Party Committee, witnessing the agreement, and Deputy Mayor Yu Jichuan presiding over the proceedings. Huang Youyuan, Executive Vice Chairman and General Manager of BTR New Material Group, delivered remarks at the event, with representatives from Lushan County and relevant municipal departments also in attendance.
The project will be undertaken by Sichuan Ruian New Material Technology Co., Ltd. and will be located in Lushan County, Ya'an City. The initiative features a fully integrated layout, combining the production of finished anode materials with in-house graphitization capabilities, a strategic move designed to strengthen the supply chain and enhance operational efficiency.
Understanding the Equity Structure and Strategic Synergies
Sichuan Ruian, established in September 2021 with a registered capital of 300 million yuan, is a joint venture with BTR New Material Group holding a 51% stake and Fuan Co., Ltd. (through Fuan Holdings) owning the remaining 49%. The initial cooperation was formalized on-site at the 18th Western China International Fair, leading to the company's establishment in Lushan. The division of labor between the two partners is clear and complementary: BTR, a global leader in anode material shipments that topped industry rankings in the first half of 2026 with over 330,000 tons sold (a 22.97% year-on-year increase), contributes advanced materials technology and its extensive customer network. Meanwhile, Fuan brings its expertise in graphitization processing, previously estimated at 110,000 to 120,000 tons annually, with its subsidiary Tianquan Fuan also serving major clients like BTR and Shanshan. By co-locating the finished product line and graphitization capacity in this integrated project, the partners aim to address a key supply chain gap.
The customer base for the new facility spans leading battery manufacturers, including CATL, BYD, Gotion High-Tech, EVE Energy, Great Power Energy, and Juda Lithium Battery.
