Industrial And Commercial Bank Of China Limited has successfully issued RMB 40 billion in floating-rate green financial bonds on the China interbank market, with proceeds primarily allocated to green transportation, clean energy, and other environmentally sustainable projects.
This issuance represents a key initiative by the bank to implement the central government's strategic directives on accelerating the development of a multi-tiered bond market and advancing the green finance agenda. The bonds carry a three-year tenor and total RMB 40 billion, structured into two floating-rate tranches: RMB 30 billion linked to the LPR benchmark and RMB 10 billion linked to the DR001 benchmark.
Notably, this marks the first time a dual-tranche floating-rate structure has been employed, effectively mitigating interest rate mismatch risks while catering to diversified investor preferences. The offering received strong market recognition, underscoring ICBC's robust reputation and significant influence in the capital markets.
Looking ahead, the bank will continue exploring innovative business models under regulatory guidance, enhancing its support for the real economy and contributing to the high-quality development of China's bond market and the broader goal of building financial strength.
