Town's New Education Alliance Unites Nine Schools Through Health, Innovation, and Culture

On September 17, the achievements showcase for high-quality school district development and the launch ceremony for the "Heart Gravity" education alliance collaborative nurture project were held at the Experimental School Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Minhang. The newly launched "Heart Gravity" project focuses on five key educational dimensions: ideological guidance, mental health, sports-education integration, innovation empowerment, and cultural heritage. Nine schools within the town serve as base schools for this initiative, aiming to activate internal momentum in regional education through shared resources, collaborative feature building, and complementary advantages.

Known as the birthplace of Shanghai's Gangshan culture and a focal point of Shanghai-style culture, the region is home to the Shanghai Maqiao AI Innovation Pilot Zone and 20 educational institutions at various levels, offering abundant humanistic and technological resources. Rooted in four thousand years of local heritage, the project embodies a collaborative philosophy of shared vision and united education efforts. The framework is structured as "1+N+X" for comprehensive coordinated education, where one digital platform breaks down data barriers, multiple educational communities unite diverse strengths, and resource lists enable precise provision, transforming education from fragmented efforts into aggregated efficiency.

This system leverages the development of an educational ecosystem around Shanghai Jiao Tong University, deepening collaboration with institutions like East China University of Science and Technology. Practical achievements have emerged in ideological education, sports-education integration, AI-enhanced learning, intangible cultural heritage aesthetic education, and teacher development, steadily advancing local education toward greater systematization, branding, and integration. During the event, the town officially designated nine schools as "Heart Gravity" base schools spanning the five key areas. Additionally, a strategic cooperation agreement for medical-education integration was signed with the Basic Education Office of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and the Minhang District Mental Health Center, with certificates of appointment issued to ten partner organizations as "educational partners."

Several named studios and subject bases were formally established on site, including those led by Zhao Liyun, Liu Yiting, Zhao Ying, and Ma Qin, along with a junior high school physics subject base. With these additions, the town has now accumulated thirteen subject studios and bases, reinforcing its teacher training system through expert leadership, team research, and district-wide coordination. Since 2024, the town has partnered with the Minhang District Institute of Education to develop the "Yue Tan Maqiao" grand ideological and political course brand. Over the past two years, this initiative has broken down classroom boundaries by leveraging local heritage, red resources, and community settings to create an immersive, project-based educational model covering all students. Pupils step beyond school grounds to visit historical sites, investigate communities, and listen to local voices, gaining insights and nurturing their character in real-world contexts.

During the event, Feng Zhilan, vice principal of the Experimental School Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University and host of the Feng Zhilan Famous Teacher Studio, delivered a keynote address titled "From Guarding a Single Classroom to Lighting Up a Vast Sky," sharing practical explorations of the "health first" educational philosophy and approaches to cultivating dual-competency teachers. Tang Shiyu, principal of the Minhang Science and Technology High School Affiliated to East China University of Science and Technology, shared practical experiences in AI-empowered integrated teaching, learning, evaluation, and research, highlighting progress in regional digital education development.

A series of performances showcased achievements in cultural preservation, sports-education integration, and arts education, including the intangible heritage program "Lion Spirit," scenario presentations "You Chao You Ai" and "Sports-Education Vitality Show," the dance "Growing in the Sunshine," and the song-and-dance pieces "Grow" and "Sweet Years by the Maqiao Wind." Outside the main venue, an interactive area featured booths from fifteen local primary, secondary, and kindergarten institutions, displaying the diverse and vibrant landscape of regional education. Also unveiled was a newly opened AI education zone, jointly built by the Experimental School Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University and local enterprise Shanghai Whale Robot Technology Co., Ltd. The zone includes an AI development history exhibition corridor, interactive experience areas, and robot competition classrooms, providing an immersive, hands-on learning environment for scientific innovation. Third-grade students now receive introductory information technology courses, with plans to fully integrate the zone into teaching, clubs, and after-school services, gradually building an AI curriculum system spanning all grade levels and moving innovation education from isolated experiences to systematic cultivation.
