During the 2026 summer break, Dianxi Science and Technology Normal University advanced its educational framework centred on "promoting teaching, learning, and innovation through competition," mobilising over one hundred students to participate in multiple national and provincial key contests. The institution amassed a record-breaking total of 59 national-level awards and 7 provincial-level accolades, including 4 first prizes, marking an all-time high in competitive performance.

At the 25th National College Student Robot Competition (ROBOCON/ROBOTAC series), instructor-led teams under the guidance of educators including Li Donghai and Du Manman tackled challenging tracks such as four-legged obstacle challenges, legged parkour, and humanoid martial arts bouts. Their efforts yielded one national first prize, two second prizes, and three third prizes.

In the 28th China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition, students achieved success on two fronts. At the national finals, three teams from the robotics engineering programme performed with composure under the mentorship of Li Donghai, Chen Lihong, Zhan Liudi, and Wang Qiang, capturing one national first prize, one second prize, and one third prize. Concurrently, at the provincial stage in Yunnan, they secured one first prize and one second prize at the provincial level.

At the 16th National College Student Computer Application Proficiency and Digital Literacy Competition finals, a team coached by instructor He Xingyu competed in the C language programming category, earning national second prizes for seven students and third prizes for forty-one students.

Beyond these highlights, the university also received provincial first, second, and third prizes at the 2026 RAICOM Robot Developer Competition, as well as one second prize and one third prize in the southern regional division of the China College Student Aircraft Design and Innovation Competition.

Where to Begin

In recent years, Dianxi Science and Technology Normal University has consistently positioned disciplinary competitions as a vital vehicle for talent development. The institution leverages summer sessions for intensive training, seeking to bridge the gap between theoretical instruction and engineering practice.

What Drives This Strategy

Looking ahead, the university plans to further refine its competition cultivation framework, deepen the integration of specialised teaching with scientific innovation activities, and encourage more students to sharpen their skills and expand their capabilities through high-level contests. The ultimate goal remains the cultivation of high-quality, application-oriented innovative talent.
