A major human resources development conference has opened in Nanjing, Jiangsu, revealing a strong market demand for technical talent. The event is being held alongside the 8th APEC Ministerial Meeting on Human Resources Development, providing a platform for job matching for both domestic and international candidates while also unveiling a series of advancements, including AI-powered human resources services.

More than 8,000 employers are participating in this large-scale event, with plans to hire over 110,000 people. The national job fair for university graduates and high-level talent serves as a central component of the conference, offering more than 20,000 job openings across online and offline channels. On-site recruitment alone features over 8,000 positions, with employers seeking to fill more than 50,000 roles.

From a job category perspective, openings span traditional advantageous industries, strategic emerging sectors like next-generation information technology, and cutting-edge future industries such as artificial intelligence. Notably, there is a robust need for talent in mechanical engineering, electrical and automation, electronic information, chemical engineering, computer science, and smart manufacturing and robotics, with an abundant supply of positions available.

In terms of compensation, participating employers are offering an average annual salary of 164,000 yuan. The data shows that 71.6% of the available positions offer annual salaries reaching 100,000 yuan, while 26.3% of roles provide annual pay of 200,000 yuan or more.

A collaborative recruitment model has been developed under the guidance of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. The ministry's information center, together with the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, has jointly created a job-seeking large model. This AI-driven tool consolidates frontline practical experience into the model's internal capabilities, enabling deep insight into the fundamental logic of job-person matching. It opens access channels broadly, breaks down data barriers between government and enterprises, and addresses the computational challenges faced by smaller institutions, offering comprehensive support to job seekers, employers, and HR service agencies.

Additionally, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security has signed a memorandum of understanding with the World Employment Confederation. This agreement aims to foster international exchange and cooperation in optimizing human resource allocation, strengthening the synergy between industry and employment, and building a modern HR service industry system. The World Employment Confederation is a global organization made up of national industry associations and leading HR service companies, dedicated to promoting the global development of the HR services industry, advocating for fair recruitment practices, and sharing cutting-edge labor market insights.

The 8th APEC Ministerial Meeting on Human Resources Development will commence on September 21st in Nanjing. Themed "Shaping a Modern Workforce for a Shared Asia-Pacific Community," the ministerial meeting will cover three key topics: promoting high-quality and full employment while building an employment-friendly development model, focusing on investing in people to enhance the quality and effectiveness of vocational skills training, and strengthening the social security system to make it more optimized and sustainable. Given that artificial intelligence is a crucial aspect of APEC's human resources development cooperation, the meeting will also address the impact of AI on employment in the Asia-Pacific region and explore effective pathways for leveraging AI to empower human resources development.
