0607 GMT - The verdict within financial market is clear: the Fed should deliver a 25 basis point interest rate increase, says Ipek Ozkardeskaya, senior analyst at Swissquote. The Fed didn't guide the market toward that decision, she adds. Investors guided themselves in light of the economic data and geopolitical factors. It would be really odd--and potentially dramatic--if the Fed decided to go against that expectation, she says. A very sharp selloff in the dollar, and potentially also in longer-term U.S. Treasurys would ensue, she adds. It would be quite terrible given that the U.S. 10-year yield just spiked past 5% and reached levels last seen in 2007, she says.
