Forrestania Resources (ASX:FRS) awarded a AU$6 million contract to JWI Contractors for the stage 11 raise of the Edna May tailings storage facility in Western Australia, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

The expansion will provide additional tailings storage capacity to support ongoing operations at Edna May, with the initial embankment section targeted to be operational from mid-November, per the filing.

The construction of the remaining embankment raise will continue while the facility is operating and receiving tailings, with completion expected in March next year, the company said.

Its shares gained 3% in recent Monday trade.
