Retension Pharmaceuticals filed for an initial public offering.

The clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company did not say how many shares it intends to list or at what price, according to a Friday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company's product candidate, called RTN-001, is designed to reduce blood pressure by potentiating nitric oxide signaling as a possible treatment for hypertension. The drug is currently in a phase 2b trial, with data expected in the first half of next year.

The company reported a net loss of $7.5 million in the first half of this year, up from $1.9 million in the same period a year earlier, according to the filing. It plans to use proceeds from the IPO to support the development of RTN-001.

It applied to list shares on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the symbol RTSN.
