Tempus AI Stock Surges as Revenue Optimism Boosts Winning Streak

Clarity on how much revenue Tempus AI will bring in through Medicare reimbursements for two of its cancer screenings appeased investors this week as shares surged Thursday.

Tempus stock added 15% Thursday as part of a 36% advance over the last five sessions. Shares trended toward their highest close since Nov. 5, 2025, when the stock closed at $82.26.

ARK Innovation ETF, in which Tempus is the third-largest position behind Tesla and SpaceX, rose 4.3%.

CEO Eric Lefkosky, in comments Tuesday at the Morgan Stanley Global Healthcare Conference, said Tempus expects reimbursement between $80 million and $100 million next year for its tissue scanning test and between $250 million and $300 million from its liquid biopsy.

Tempus announced in July it would buy cancer testing company Personalis for $1.5 billion, saying the deal would "enhance its ability to support patients from diagnosis and treatment selection, to recurrence and monitoring." Tempus said it would acquire all outstanding Personalis shares for $16.25 a share, most of which would be completed through Tempus stock.

Its stock briefly sank after the announcement as Wall Street soured on the acquisition's stock-based structure, but shares are up 92% since hitting a 52-week closing low of $41.55 on July 29.

Tempus reported $382.5 million in second-quarter revenue on July 30 and signaled $200 million in new licenses for its data and applications business. Its diagnostics arm generated 76% of overall revenue.

In March, Cathie Wood's ARK Invest bought nearly than 85,000 shares of the healthcare technology firm as it unloaded a portion of its Meta holdings.
