Vicor shares rose after the company granted a license to a new original equipment manufacturer with the right to procure Vertical Power Delivery modules covered by Vicor patents from unlicensed suppliers.
The stock rose 10% to $203.05 in after-hours trading Wednesday. Through the close, shares were up 68% this year.
Vertical Power Delivery (VPD) enables high-performance AI compute and network processors fueled at a high current density from a low voltage source.
The licenses can source VPD solutions from unlicensed suppliers. Licensees working with Vicor may earn discounts on licensing royalties for commodity VPD modules from unlicensed suppliers.
