Market Chatter: Google Should Ease Ad Tech Rules, Appoint Antitrust Monitor, US Judge Says

Alphabet's (GOOG) Google should loosen its rules on online advertising auctions and appoint an internal antitrust compliance monitor, according to a US federal judge, Reuters reported Wednesday.

In a 106-page decision, US District Judge Leonie Brinkema said Google should change some of its business practices, two weeks after she rejected the US Department of Justice's request to force Google to sell AdX, part of its ad tech business.

Brinkema said the remedies should increase competition in online advertising technology markets and prevent Google from returning to anticompetitive practices, the media outlet added.

Google did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
