Axsome's Auvelity Launch Shows Early Strength in Alzheimer's Agitation, RBC Says

Axsome Therapeutics' (AXSM) investors remain focused on the launch of Auvelity for Alzheimer's agitation, RBC Capital Markets said Friday in a report.

Early signs from the launch are encouraging, and Auvelity is on track to meet RBC's $804 million fiscal 2026 sales estimate and exceed Wall Street expectations, the 26-page report said.

RBC's survey of 77 physicians, representing about 2,600 patients, found doctors like Auvelity's profile, expect to increase use, and are seeing steady patient growth.

Physicians estimated that about one-third of their Alzheimer's agitation patients also have depression, which often leads doctors to start patients on Auvelity's full dose rather than the starter pack, a pattern that helps lift paid prescriptions and revenue, the report said.

RBC maintained its outperform rating on Axsome and its $297 price target.
