Qantas Airways (ASX:QAN) is investigating a potential systems breach following indications that some customers of its Qantas Hotels service were targeted through phishing attempts, the Australian Financial Review reported Thursday, citing a Qantas spokesperson.

The potential breach may have been caused by a third-party intermediary that facilitates bookings between the airline's portal and its hotel partners, anonymous sources with knowledge of the matter told the news outlet.

Qantas did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires. Its shares gained about 2% in recent Thursday trade.
