Boeing (BA) received an expanded commitment from Lufthansa Group after the airline's supervisory board approved exercising options for 20 737 MAX 10 aircraft valued at $3.4 billion, Lufthansa said Thursday in a statement.
The plane manufacturer originally provided the purchase options alongside a 2023 agreement for 40 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, which gave Lufthansa rights to acquire up to 60 additional MAX family jets.
Boeing is scheduled to begin delivering the newly ordered 737 MAX 10 models to the airline in the early 2030s.
